 What you will typically be responsible for: 

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all watershed and conservation lands activities.
  • Plan, direct, and manage the daily operations and activities of the Watershed team.
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permit requirements.
  • Manage contracts, consultants, concessionaires, and vendor agreements.
  • Foster a culture grounded in safety, accountability, environmental responsibility, and ongoing improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Training: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in watershed management, biology, environmental science, natural resources management, wildlife management, forestry, wildland recreation management, or related field. 

Experience: Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in land and natural resources management, including two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.

 Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California driver’s license to be maintained throughout employment.
