Water Treatment Plant Operator Trainee

Stockton East Water District is seeking applicants for a Water Treatment Plant Operator Trainee. Monthly salary range is $6,145.00-$7,470.00, and includes an excellent benefit package. The Water Treatment Plant Operator Trainee performs a variety of operation, maintenance, and inspection assignments related to the District Water Treatment Plant; maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment used in the treatment and purification of water; reads and interprets chart and meter readings for analyzing the efficiency of plant operations, performs sampling, chemical, physical, and bacteriological analysis to determine optimum plant performance; and maintains chemical inventory. This classification is designed to train individuals in operational control and maintenance skills necessary to become a Grade T3 Water Treatment Plant Operator. During the Trainee Program, incumbents perform a variety of tasks with guidance under direct supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Operators and under the general supervision of the, Water Operations Manager and the Chief Plant Operator.

Possession of a Grade 2 (T2) Treatment Operator Certification issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board.

Possession of a Grade 1 (D1) Distribution Operator Certification issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board.
