Water System Operator

Pinedale County Water District is a California Special District located in Fresno, California. The District operates a water distribution system with treatment at the wells, a sewer collection system, and partners with a local vendor for solid waste disposal.

The successful applicant will, under general supervision with increasing levels of responsibility, assist in operation, maintenance, installation, inspection, and repair of the water distribution and water treatment systems, as well as inspection and maintenance of the sewer collection system. Other duties include, but are not limited to, water quality sampling and testing, meter reading, facilities maintenance, responding to customer complaints and inquiries, interaction with vendors, and some light clerical work. Operators will respond to emergencies during and after hours. Preferred skills include experience with underground utilities, specifically water systems, and familiarity with tools and equipment, such as backhoes, air compressors, jackhammers, and small power tools.

California state issued Water Distribution Operator grade D2 and Water Treatment Operator grade T2 are preferred and will be required with 18 months of hire.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Valid California (Class C) driver’s license
• Eligibility to work in the United States
