The Rio Linda / Elverta Community Water District is seeking qualified candidates for an exciting opportunities: Water System Foreman. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Sacramento, our community offers a rural setting with convenient access to major destinations while supporting essential public water service.
The District provides drinking water through a dozen wells and is currently designing a treatment facility to remove hexavalent chromium from groundwater. These roles are ideal for candidates who want to build their careers while helping deliver safe, reliable water service to the community.
Position Overview
The Position work under the general supervision of the Water System Manager, who reviews work for conformance to established standards and procedures. The Water System Foreman role does include supervision responsibilities.

Pay Scale
$43.66 to $53.12 hourly
Minimum Licenses.
Grade 2 Distribution (D3), Grade 2 Treatment (T2), Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester within six months, California Driver’s License.
Minimum Experience
Three years operating a water utility or Four years underground construction.
Typical Responsibilities
· Operate, maintain, and support the District’s water system and related equipment.
· Perform water quality testing and assist with regulatory reporting requirements.
· Support construction and maintenance work, including trenching, pipe repair, laying pipe, and backfilling.
· Install and maintain pumps, valves, mains, services, meters, and other distribution facilities.
· Operate vehicles and equipment such as pumps, a vacuum trailer, backhoe, and dump truck.
· Read meters, restore or disconnect services, and help resolve customer service issues.
· Use construction tools and machinery safely while performing sustained manual work and lifting heavy objects.
· Respond to rotating on-call and emergency assignments and be able to arrive on site within 45 minutes.
