The City of Camarillo is seeking a skilled and dedicated Water Reclamation Plant Mechanic II to join our Water Reclamation Division team. We are recruiting to fill one vacancy and are looking for candidates with a strong mechanical and electrical background who are eager to support the operation and maintenance of the City’s water reclamation facilities.

About the Opportunity
The ideal candidate for the position of Water Reclamation Plant Mechanic II will be an individual who can perform the installation and maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, piping/conduit, and other mechanical equipment at a journey level. The candidate selected will work in the city’s Water Reclamation Plant as well as several pump stations throughout the city. The ideal candidate should be able to utilize power and hand tools, electrical testing devices, welding and fabrication equipment, and the ability to work safely in an industrial environment. It is desirable for the candidate to have some experience with equipment at a wastewater treatment plant or similar industrial facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Two (2) years of experience performing skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical/instrumentation systems in a water or wastewater treatment plant, manufacturing plant or other industrial facilities with similar equipment to the Water Reclamation Plant.
Licenses and Certifications
- Grade II Mechanical Technologist Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) required within two (2) years of date of hire.
- Grade I Electrical/Instrumentation Technologist Certificate issued by CWEA is highly desirable.
- Valid California driver’s license appropriate to the equipment operated.
