Water Production Operator I/II
Are you looking for a meaningful career where your work makes a direct impact on the health and safety of the community? Mission Springs Water District is currently hiring a Water Production Operator I or II to join our dedicated Operations team!
What You’ll Do:
Depending on your level of experience, you’ll work under direct (Operator I) or general (Operator II) supervision to:
- Operate and maintain pumps, wells, booster stations, valves, reservoirs, hydrants, and related water system infrastructure
- Conduct water sampling and chlorination in compliance with state regulations to ensure safe, high-quality drinking water
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance at various facilities
- Support the delivery of safe and reliable water to our customers every day
Operator I: Initially under close supervision, incumbents perform more routine water treatment, transmission, and distribution duties. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult.
Operator II: Positions at this level are distinguished from the Water Production Operator I level by the performance of higher-level operating duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.
