Water Distribution Operator II

Montecito Water District seeks a qualified candidate to join our team.

The Water Distribution Operator II is an entry-level position with excellent opportunity for advancement.

The qualified candidate will be able to perform work in construction, modification, maintenance and repair of potable water distribution systems, including fire hydrants, pipelines and other facilities and equipment, among other duties. Qualifications include High School Graduation / Diploma or equivalent. Experience with construction, maintenance and repair of water utilities and related facilities experience desirable.

Additional Requirements:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License by time of appointment.

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Grade I Water Distribution Operator Certificate within the first 12 months of employment.

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Grade II Water Distribution Operator Certificate within the first 12 months of employment.

Position is full-time with a salary range of $73,377.20 to $89,190.40 per year. Placement within the range is dependent on qualifications. Excellent benefits. The position is represented by the Local 620 of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
