JOB ANNOUCEMENT:
Lake Havasu City, located on the beautiful Colorado River, is seeking a dedicated and independent Water Compliance Specialist to join our Water Conservation Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Arizona Department of Water Quality (ADEQ) requirements through thorough inspections, evaluations, and sampling. This role involves providing expert advice on water quality issues and requires a strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations. This position will include learning Water Treatment and assisting Plant Operators as needed. Work is performed under the direction of the Plant Operator Lead and Utility Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections, evaluations, and sampling to ensure compliance with ADEQ requirements.
- Provide expert advice on water quality issues to the municipality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to water quality compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies as needed.

- Deeply familiar with the ADEQ Requirements and providing expertise on water quality issues to the municipality.
- Collaborative team-player with other depts. throughout the City and government agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with coursework in water treatment and water distribution.
- 1-3 years’ experience in sample collection technique, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidate must possess Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade II Water Treatment at hire.
- Valid driver license at hire.
The selected candidate who does not possess the required certification will be considered a trainee at the time of hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade II Water Treatment at Hire.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
- Experience in environmental compliance, auditing, or quality assurance is preferred.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- The incumbent works outdoors and is exposed to odors and extreme temperatures.
- May require the use of a respirator
- Primary assignment will be water treatment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in environmental compliance, auditing, or quality assurance.
- Coursework in Water Treatment and/or Water Distribution.
