Temescal Valley Water District operates and manages a potable water system, recycled water system and a tertiary sewage treatment plant in the Temescal Valley area of Riverside County. We are a small but efficient Water District and seek to hire operators that are team players. The District is looking for operators that are willing to cross train and complement our hard working team. 

WASTE WATER TREATMENT:

·        Assisting the Plant Superintendent in the operation of a 2.25 MGD SBR tertiary treatment plant, aerobic solids digestion, solids thickening and dewatering, chemical handling, chlorination, process control and recycled water delivery.

·        General knowledge of equipment used in wastewater treatment processes, such as pumps, motors, valves, filters, engines, meters, blowers and compressors. 

·        Possession of a valid Grade III issued by the State Water Resources Control Board. Minimum of one-year as a Grade III with hands-on experience in the operation of a treatment plant. 

·        Valid Grade II issued by The State Water Resource Control Board – Able to get a Grade III in one year form hire date.

·        High school diploma or equivalent, valid California, Class C driver’s license in good standing.

·        May be required to work weekends and be required to be “on-call”.

 

This is a non-exempt, hourly position that works in direct contact with the General Manager, Operations Superintendent, and the general public in the scope of his or her duties.

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

·        Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with co-workers and the general public, both orally and in writing;

·        Ability to analyze, interpret and utilize information to make informed decisions in the operation and maintenance of a Wastewater Treatment Facility;

·        Ability to perform heavy physical labor, at times under adverse weather conditions, including (but not limited to) bending, stretching, crawling, climbing, stooping, twisting, lifting up to 75 pounds and working in permitted confined spaces;

 

Compensation: Range $42 – $58/hour, depending on qualification and certifications

Wage is dependent on qualifications and experience. This is a full time position and includes competitive salary, 2% @ 62 PERS, medical insurance, standard holidays, vacation and sick time and a great work environment.
