2% increase in base effective 6/22/25

2% increase in base effective 12/7/25

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

 Education:

  • Utility Worker I/II – Water: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade. 

 Experience:

  • Utility Worker I- Water: One (1) year of experience performing construction and/or maintenance work with a public agency, utility district, or similar organization.
  • Utility Worker II – Water: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience performing construction and/or maintenance work with a public agency, utility district, or similar organization.

 Licenses and Certifications: 

  • Utility Worker I – Water: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment. 
  • Utility Worker I – Water: Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of employment, a valid California Class A or B Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Utility Worker I – Water: Possession of a valid Grade I (D-1) Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Utility Worker II – Water: Possession of a valid California Class A or B Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Utility Worker II – Water: Possession of a valid Grade II (D-2) Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board, to be maintained throughout employment.

Positions at the Utility Worker I – Water level may exercise some of these knowledge and abilities statements in a learning capacity.
