San Juan Water District Seeks a Utilities Maintenance Worker I
The Utilities Maintenance Worker I is part of the Treatment team, performing custodial and maintenance tasks pertaining to the administrative and field services buildings and water treatment plant.
Duties Include:
Sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping floors; stripping waxes, buffing, and sealing floors.
Emptying waste receptacles; cleaning walls, windows, and restrooms; tracking and replenishing supplies.
Cleaning and maintaining equipment and materials used in daily tasks.
Performing a variety of building maintenance tasks throughout the District, including moving furniture and equipment, replacing lights and air filters, painting, assembling shelving, and maintaining coffee makers.
Performing facility groundskeeping tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, cleaning, sanding, weed eating, and painting.
Assisting in the continuous development and maintenance of a preventative maintenance program.
Using a computer to enter and retrieve information related to work assignments and recordkeeping (Computer Maintenance Management System, CMMS).
Actively participating in the District’s Chlorine Program including assisting with connecting and disconnecting chlorine equipment, deliveries, annual maintenance, etc.
Researching parts and material requirements for preventative maintenance as well as repair and replacement.
Assisting in routine preventative maintenance on pumps, motors and other rotational equipment including lubrication, cleaning and painting equipment; report necessary repairs.
The qualifications include:
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator’s class C license.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range is $30.11 – $36.14, depending on qualifications. In addition, the District offers competitive benefits which include District contribution to CalPERS retirement, medical (100% of premium for most offered plans), dental and vision for employee and dependents; District paid life insurance; 12 paid days of sick leave; 11 paid holidays; and paid vacation depending on length of service. In addition, the District provides retiree health benefits with 50% of the premium paid with 10 years of service and an additional 5% with each year of service up to 100% with 20 years of service in CalPERS participating agencies.
