Job Description:

 

The Digital Content Specialist supports external-facing communications activities and objectives, including writing, editing, desktop publishing, and event planning for traditional, in-person, and online channels. This position will develop and implement internal communications for digital screens and the intranet to improve employee engagement and communications. The Digital Content Specialist will also help manage and reinforce the company’s branding and related guidelines. This position is based in Torrance, CA and is anticipated to run for 18 months.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

• Create and implement strategic digital communications campaigns that support the company’s strategic framework and live on the company’s web sites and other online platforms

 

• Write and edit regular and emergency content for web sites, and ensuring content stays updated

 

• Ensure web sites and other online platforms align with best practices and are leading-edge, effective tools for key audiences

 

• Customize digital content for individual districts

 

• Create digital content for internal boards using Adobe’s creative suite software

 

• Assist in creating, setting up, and launching phone/text message/email notifications in Customer Outreach Portal

 

• Monitor use of logo/branding to ensure consistency

 

• Maintain intranet pages for company, department, and districts and assisting with content

 

• Work with internal managers, outside printers, consultants, and other vendors to produce and distribute materials to appropriate parties

 

• Participate in and support the company’s Continuous Improvement program and projects

 

• Attend meetings and trainings as directed by Cal Water

 

• Perform work on-site in the assigned office location

 

• Perform other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital communications, or similar field and/or equivalent, relevant work experience

 

• At least three years of experience in corporate communications, digital communications, digital marketing, or similar field

 

• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

 

• Graphic design/desktop publishing skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud programs preferred, particularly Adobe Express and Photoshop

 

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

 

• Knowledge of AP Style and ability to proofread

 

• Able to plan, organize, prioritize, multitask, negotiate, and network

 

• Valid California Driver License

 

Salary Range: $74,600 – $138,400
