Job Overview:
Reporting directly to the Regional Director has responsibility for managing Water infrastructure projects while staying up to date with industry trends, regulatory standards, technology, and direction pertaining to water treatment. The Project Manager has full responsibility for the successful operation and maintenance of the assigned facility(s). Job responsibilities as appropriate may also include design review, construction observation, commissioning and capital improvements.
This is a senior management level position responsible for all operation and maintenance activities and permit compliance. The position will lead client coordination and communication on facility operation, along with acting as an agency representative for public outreach and education and stakeholder groups. The position will coordinate and work with direct report managers to achieve facility operation and compliance standards. The direct report managers include Operation & Maintenance, Regulatory Compliance, Asset Management, Maintenance, and Instrumentation & Controls. The position will closely plan and execute the facilities short-term and long-range client (contract) and PERC Water strategic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee the operation and management of the assets of assigned facilities, associated personnel, and clients.
· Supervise and manage operations & maintenance personnel including significant responsibility for training, performance evaluations, mentoring etc.
· Manage implementation and ongoing utilization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking Asset Management.
· Interact with regulatory agencies and project clients.
· Analyze and resolve problems with process and/or equipment.
· Complete performance and optimization evaluations and implement improvements.
· Review permits, lab tests and interpret data.
· Create and distribute client and operations data reports.
· Prepare and coordinate regulatory data and reports as required by client.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory permits.
· Oversee and perform process adjustments to maintain treatment process compliance.
· Perform other duties and participate in the operation of other facilities on a limited basis as needed.
· Client interface including attending monthly operations meetings.
· Prepare Monthly Operations Reports for client.
· Uphold satisfactory attendance and work performance.
· Manage Capital Replacement projects specific to assigned facilities.
· Communicate relevant information to the necessary stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• General computer knowledge; good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent team-working and communications skills to enable effective interaction with and supervision of PERC Water personnel.
• Must possess good verbal, written and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with coworkers and supervisor. Ability to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions. Be a problem solver.
• Excellent leadership abilities to focus staff and obtain operation and maintenance goals.
• Must have excellent organization and project planning skills along with the ability to execute developed plans.
• Physical capabilities
• Body Positions: Standing, sitting for extended periods of time, walking.
• Body Movements: Use of hands, eyes, arms, and voice. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to climb on, or into facility equipment and systems (Confined Space Training required).
• Willingness to travel a plus.

• Language ability includes reading, writing, spelling, and the ability to communicate Clearly on business topics in English.
Education, Professional Credentials, and Experience Required:
· Valid California SWRCB D4/T2 Certification highly desired
· Minimum of 5 years previous experience, at a supervisor level or higher, in the operation and maintenance of water treatment/distribution facilities.
· College business or environmental degree and/or a degree in water technology or sciences is highly desired.
· Valid California state driver’s license required
Work Conditions:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, including treatment plant facilities, control room, pump stations, distribution sites, and field locations. Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, humidity) is expected.
