Project Engineer (Regional Water Quality Control Plant)

THE POSITION: The City’s Public Works Department is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to lead complex civil environmental and mechanical engineering projects supporting essential municipal infrastructure. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in wastewater treatment hands-on experience across all project phases from concept to commissioning and the ability to manage capital improvement projects efficiently and independently. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise in wastewater processes, experience managing complex infrastructure projects, strong project management and coordination skills, and a solid knowledge of industry standards and best practice.
SALARY: $160,451.20 – $196,560.00 Annually
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Equivalent to four years increasingly responsible engineering experience.
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in civil, mechanical, or other approved engineering curriculum depending upon assigned area.
- License or Certificate: Registration as a professional engineer in the State of California, or ability to obtain registration within one year of appointment to the classification or registration as a professional architect in the State of California. Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
