SALARY: $173,846.40 – $211,369.60 / Yearly (Effective 6/22/2025, salary range will increase to $184,267.20 – $224,057.60 / Yearly)

Join the Zone 7 Water Agency team as our Network Engineer and assist in the determination and implementation of the Zone 7 Water Agency’s network.

This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the Agency’s network systems and servers, as well as providing expert-level support for network-related issues. This position will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cutting-edge solutions, and develop and implement information technology (IT) related policies, procedures, and best practices.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

Education:

The equivalent of seven (7) years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in network systems analysis, network systems administration, and network systems management.

Substitution:

Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.

LICENSING and CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License
  • Professional Certification as a Cisco Certified
  • Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Sonic Wall Security Professional (CSSP), or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate is highly desirable
