Every day, our work helps safeguard San Francisco Bay and support a more sustainable future. As our Mechanical Maintenance Team Coach, you’ll maintain critical infrastructure that keeps our communities healthy and our waterways clean.

Your Role in Environmental Stewardship

Lead a skilled team maintaining wastewater treatment facilities that process 24 million gallons daily, preventing pollution and protecting the Bay ecosystem. You’ll oversee preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment upgrades across our 60-square-mile service area with 830+ miles of underground pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a mechanical maintenance team focused on environmental protection
  • Ensure reliable operation of treatment plants and pumping stations that safeguard public health
  • Implement safety programs and training that protect both workers and the environment
  • Manage budgets and coordinate projects that enhance our environmental mission
  • Troubleshoot and maintain critical infrastructure serving three Bay Area cities

Schedule: 5:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off) On-call: Up to two weeks per month for emergency response.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years mechanical maintenance experience (wastewater treatment preferred)
  • High school diploma/equivalent; college coursework highly valued
  • At least one year of leadership experience with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, safety procedures, and budget management
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license
  • Commitment to public service and environmental protection
