What you’ll do

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant, shop, field, and construction equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, overhauls, and equipment installations.
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture and responsive on-call rotation (when qualified).

Level placement

  • Mechanic I: Semi-skilled, sub-journey work with training and progression.
  • Mechanic II: Journey-level diagnostics, repair, and PM on complex systems.
  •  (Level depends on your qualifications.)

You bring

  • Mechanic I: Education/skills to follow written/oral instructions, keep records, perform shop math + 2 years semi-skilled mechanical maintenance/repair experience.
  • Mechanic II: High school (or equivalent) + recognized journey-level Maintenance/Plant Mechanic status.
  • Both levels: Valid CA Class C license/insurability; teamwork mindset; ability to work outdoors/overtime; basic CMMS & MS Office skills. Willing to join on-call rotation once proficient.

  • Candidates whose scores on the Performance Test qualify them for further consideration will be invited to a Virtual Qualifications Appraisal Interview on Thursday, 11/20/2025.
  • Finalist interviews will be held on Wednesday, 12/3/2025 onsite.
