Maricopa Water District (MWD) is seeking an accomplished and visionary executive to lead one of Arizona’s most unique public agencies. This is an exceptional opportunity to oversee a multifaceted organization that delivers irrigation water, provides agricultural power services, manages critical infrastructure, and operates Pleasant Harbor RV Resort and Marina–one of Arizona’s premier recreation destinations.
Reporting directly to the elected Board of Directors, the General Manager serves as the District’s chief executive officer, leading approximately 100 employees while driving strategic initiatives, financial sustainability, operational excellence, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, forward-thinking executive with significant leadership experience in a water district, irrigation district, public utility, or similarly complex organization. Experience overseeing diverse operations, managing large teams, working with governing boards, and balancing public service with enterprise operations is highly desirable.
