THE DISTRICT

East Valley Water District was incorporated in 1954 under County Water District Laws. We provide water and sanitary sewer services to the City of Highland and the eastern portions of the City of San Bernardino, with a service population of approximately 108,000.

Recently online, the Sterling Natural Resource Center (SNRC) is a state-of-the-art facility in San Bernardino that provides a sustainable new water supply to the region. Capable of recycling up to 8 million gallons a day, the SNRC recharges the local Bunker Hill Groundwater Basin, produces renewable electricity, and creates new opportunities for the surrounding community.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The District is seeking a team-oriented individual committed to innovative problem solving, ongoing business process improvement, and collaborative leadership. This position requires a motivated individual who is positive, approachable and of the utmost integrity, with the ability to lead by example, foster accountability, and support the professional growth and development of team members.

A detail-oriented candidate possessing excellent time management and organizational skills will do well in this position. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable on general accounting practices and principles with the ability to utilize accounting software applications to accomplish the goals of the District’s Finance Team. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable providing guidance and direction to staff, coordinating competing priorities, and working collaboratively across departments to support the District’s overall goals and objectives.

Candidates must possess education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or a related field. and possess a valid California Class C driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and Four (4) years’ progressively responsible professional gov-ernment finance and accounting program experience in including two (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity.

The annual salary range for this position in Fiscal Year 2026/27 is $145,100.80—$176,384.00. The actual salary is dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the individual selected.
