Salary Range: $57.118 To $76.543 Hourly

 

THE POSITION:

 

Field Engineer – Under direction of the District Engineer, performs engineering work related to design, investigation, and construction of wastewater-related projects; inspects construction projects and may act as project manager for assigned projects.

Some examples of duties include: coordinate capital improvement projects, including design, construction, and inspections; provide technical input on system modifications for lift stations, sewer mains, and the wastewater treatment plant; prepare progress payments, change orders, and reports; design and prepare plans and specifications and cost estimates for projects on lift stations, sewer mains, and wastewater treatment plant; interpret and enforce construction plans and specifications; other related duties as assigned.   

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, LICENSES: Any combination of education and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying.

 

Three years increasingly responsible experience, two of which under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer or General Engineering Contractor, involving engineering, construction of industrial facilities, construction planning, and/or construction inspection for a private contractor, municipal agency, or engineering consultant involved in significant municipal engineering; and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field (12 years of field experience in construction or engineering may be substituted for the required degree); and a valid California driver’s license.
