Field Crew Worker I – Starting at $20.73/hr.

Water Technician I  – Starting at $24.87/hr.

Job Functions:

• Learns to perform maintenance and operations functions of the water distribution system and equipment. 
• Has customer contact and acts as a representative of the Company.
• Perform meter reads and field investigations.
• Perform collection activities of delinquent accounts.
• Under specific direction, follows established policies and procedures in conducting service, installation and repair of equipment to ensure proper working order. 
• Operates company vehicle according to established safety procedures.
• Previous back-hoe and other heavy equipment experience a plus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Basic computer and writing skills required.
• Be On-call during non-business hours on a rotating basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver’s license.
• Background & Drug Screening
• May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking and listening for extended periods of time.
• Must have a minimum of one to three (1-3) year experience in a construction environment. Public or private water system experience a plus.
• Field Crew Worker I must obtained valid California Department of Water Resources (CA/DWR) Grade I or II Distribution certificate within twelve (12) months from the date of employment and maintain certificate(s) in good standing during the course of employment. The employee must sign an agreement to be employed with the Cabazon Water District for a period of three (3) years after becoming a CA/DWR certified water operator or will reimburse the District all the training cost the District had funded.
• Water Technician I requires the possession of a valid CA/DWR Grade 1 Distribution certificate at the time of employment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

• Full-time 4 days/10 hr. per day
• 1 immediate opening in this round of recruitment. (Pension/Health)
