The Engineering Technician provides technical and administrative support to the District’s Engineering Department related to water and wastewater infrastructure, capital improvement projects, and development activities. Duties include assisting with engineering projects, processing permits, maintaining engineering records, and supporting mapping and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and GIS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with engineering projects related to water and wastewater systems.
  • Process and track construction and service permits.
  • Prepare and update maps, drawings, and records using AutoCAD and GIS.
  • Maintain engineering files, databases, and technical documentation.
  • Provide information and assistance to customers, contractors, and developers regarding District services and permits.
  • Assist with field investigations, surveys, fire flow tests, and data collection.
  • Support plan review, construction inspections, and capital improvement project coordination.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and technical materials as needed.

This position may be filled at the Engineering Technician I, II, or III level, depending on qualifications. The series is flexibly staffed, with increasing responsibility and technical complexity at higher levels.
