CPS HR Consulting is partnering with the Amador Water Agency (AWA) to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Agency’s engineering program supporting critical water and wastewater infrastructure across Amador County.

This position provides overall direction, supervision, and regulatory oversight as the Engineer-in-Charge. The role manages staff, consultants, and major water and wastewater capital projects, including grant-funded work, while overseeing contracts, budgets, and technical approvals to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards. The position also represents the Agency with external partners and the Board, prepares reports, and coordinates mapping, rights-of-way, and easements in collaboration with other departments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
• California Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license
• Ten years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including five years in a supervisory or management role
