Salary: $181,190.88 – $226,282.56
Known as the “Pride of the Foothills,” Glendora is a vibrant community of more than 52,000 residents located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. With a historic downtown, strong community programs, and miles of trails, Glendora blends small-town charm with the amenities of a thriving Southern California city.
The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government and employs more than 260 staff. The Public Works Director is a key member of the Executive Team and oversees a full-service department responsible for streets, sidewalks, engineering, facilities, fleet, park maintenance, environmental services, and the City’s water system. The department has a budget of approximately $33 million and 64 employees.
Major initiatives include implementation of the City’s Capital Improvement Program, infrastructure replacement projects, reservoir improvements, traffic safety upgrades, and park enhancements.
The City seeks a collaborative, strategic leader with strong communication, management, and public presentation skills. The Director will oversee departmental operations, manage budgets and capital projects, and mentor staff while ensuring efficient service delivery to the community.
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, water management, public administration, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Significant leadership and civil engineering experience is expected. A valid California driver’s license is required; California Professional Engineer registration is highly desirable.
