Are you a strategic financial leader looking to make a meaningful impact in the public sector? El Dorado Irrigation District (EID), located in the stunning Sierra Nevada foothills, is seeking a Director of Finance to join its executive team.

As the Director of Finance, you will have broad management authority over the District’s Finance Department, providing leadership in fiscal planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic financial management. This critical role oversees four key divisions – Accounting, Customer Service/Utility Billing, Meter Services, and Fleet – ensuring financial stability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial strategy, planning, and forecasting to support the District’s long-term goals
• Oversee the preparation and administration of the District’s multi-million-dollar budget
• Provide complex financial analysis and policy support to the General Manager and Board of Directors
• Ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations
• Serve as a mentor and coach to a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a hands-on, high-performing finance leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced public sector environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Experience: At least eight years of supervisory or higher-level experience in finance management, including three years in a public sector management role
• Preferred Qualifications: CPA licensure and public utility experience are highly desirable
