As Deputy Director, you will support the strategic direction of the department, lead high-impact projects, and work closely with staff, stakeholders, and elected officials to deliver essential services that enhance the quality of life for our residents. QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in construction management, public or business administration, civil or mechanical engineering, or a closely related field. Supplemental education in water treatment/distribution, fleet management, and public administration is desirable.

Experience:

  • Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in public works operations for a public agency managing a broad range of public works programs, engineering, or municipal administration, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
