About the Position

As a Construction Inspector I/II, you will support the planning, design, and construction phases of major public works and water‑facility projects within the Capital Improvement Program. You will:

 

· Perform detailed inspections of concrete, welding, structural systems, masonry, and soils

· Verify compliance with construction plans, specifications, and contract documents

· Document inspection results using a variety of software applications

· Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers

 

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, quality, and reliability of regional water‑delivery infrastructure.

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate brings:

 

· Experience in public works or civil‑infrastructure construction

· Strong knowledge of construction inspection standards and procedures

· Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

· Skill in documenting construction activities and troubleshooting issues

Salary

Construction Inspector I: $39.42 – $53.02 / hour ($82,010.24 – $110,296.16 Annually)

Construction Inspector II: $43.52 – $58.53 / hour ($90,523.68 – $121,744.48 Annually)

The position may be filled at either level, depending on candidate qualifications.
