San Juan Water District Seeks a CMMS -GIS Coordinator

The CMMS-GIS Coordinator is responsible to develop, implement, and maintain a Computerized Management System (CMMS) for managing assets and work operations and perform assigned duties in the GIS system.

Duties Include:

  1. Assuming responsibility for the functionality and maintenance of the District’s CMMS – currently the Cityworks 23 Application Platform, including updates and revisions.
  2. Coordinating with vendors, consultants, and internal departments to gather asset information and maintain the comprehensive CMMS database.
  3. Championing the creation of new asset entries and modifying asset attributes such as cost, group, type, area, or criticality descriptions as necessary.
  4. Participating in the development of procedures to collect and maintain data records, including assignment of asset codes, asset data catalogs, and population of life cycle costs, timing and criticalities.
  5. Assisting with the administration of CMMS which includes, but is not limited to, creating, modifying and/or deleting work activity templates, creating and maintaining employee accounts in CMMS.
  6. Authoring and maintaining database reports in support of District operations.
  7. Monitoring and reviewing Operations Work Orders, Inspections, and Service Requests to ensure quality of work flow and providing necessary feedback, comments, training and/or corrections to situations as needed.
  8. Working with and training internal departments to incorporate preventative/recurring maintenance activities into the CMMS.
  9. Guiding the development of tailored and standardized reporting structures within the CMMS program as needed to provide quantifiable performance metrics and other related statistics.
  10. Providing daily customer (user) service and long-term guidance in the operation and capabilities of the program.

To be considered, candidates should be knowledgeable of asset management and data flow, use of CMMS software and hardware systems including maintenance and secure operations, basic GIS concepts, principles, and analytical techniques and have the ability to coordinate the collection of asset information and develop and employ methods that ensure accurate data collection and reporting. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong sense of teamwork and the ability to train, support, and collaborate with District staff in a productive and positive manner.

 The qualifications include:

A college degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science, GIS or other related technology field or other relevant professional certification, and/or five years of asset management experience providing enterprise support for applications. Experience in a water utility setting is preferred.

The salary range is $51.54 – $61.84, depending on qualifications. In addition, the District offers competitive benefits which include District contribution to CalPERS retirement, medical (100% of premium for most offered plans), dental and vision for employee and dependents; District paid life insurance; 12 paid days of sick leave; 11 paid holidays; and paid vacation depending on length of service. In addition, the District provides retiree health benefits with 50% of the premium paid with 10 years of service and an additional 5% with each year of service up to 100% with 20 years of service in CalPERS participating agencies.
