Associate Engineer (Registered) – $56.00/hour – $71.50/hour

This position supports Dam Safety and reports to the Hydroelectric office located in Colfax, California.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Assistant or Associate Engineer: To perform professional engineering work involving the planning, design, and construction of improvements to District facilities, including dams, canals, and other water retaining and conveyance features; to ensure compliance with federal and state dam safety regulations; to perform condition assessments and inspections of District facilities; to conduct and review engineering studies; and to coordinate and oversee the work of consultants.

 GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Assistant Engineer

Experience: One year of related professional experience is desirable.

Education:  Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or a related field.

License:

  • Possession of valid California driver’s license.
  • Possession of a valid certificate of registration as an Engineer-in-Training.

Associate Engineer

Experience: Three years of responsible experience similar to Assistant Engineer with the Nevada Irrigation District.

Education:  Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or a related field.

License:

  • Possession of valid California driver’s license.
  • Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California.
