POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, incumbents in this position perform a variety of professional engineering work related to water resources, flood control, water supply, and water treatment and distribution facilities and systems.
Assistant Engineer, Zone 7, is the journey-level class in the professional engineering series of the Zone 7 Flood Control and Water Conservation District. This class is distinguished from the next higher one of Associate Engineer, Zone 7, in that the former class is usually assigned only to part of a major project or is responsible for all of a specific small-scale and/or routine project and though incumbents may direct the work of subordinate staff for such specific projects.
CURRENT VACANCY
Although the current vacancy is in our Water Quality Engineering section, the eligibility list for this recruitment can be used in various areas within our organization including Water Supply Engineering and Flood Protection sections.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Geology or a closely related field. Possession of a valid State of California Engineer-In-Training certificate may be substituted for the required degree.
AND
Experience:
The equivalent of two years’ full-time, progressively responsible professional engineering/geologist experience.
