JOB OVERVIEW:

Assistant or Associate Engineer: To perform professional engineering work involving the design, upgrade and expansion requirements of District facilities; to plan water systems and conduct engineering studies; and to coordinate and oversee the work of consultants.

Senior Engineer: To plan, direct and supervise personnel engaged in a variety of technical engineering support functions; to perform professional engineering work involving the design, upgrade and expansion requirements of District facilities; to perform duties requiring specialized knowledge; and to provide administrative support to assigned supervisor.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Assistant Engineer

Experience: One year of professional experience is desirable.

Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or a related field.

License: Possession of valid California driver’s license. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as an Engineer-in-Training.

Associate Engineer

Experience: Three years of responsible experience similar to Assistant Engineer with the Nevada Irrigation District.

Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or a related field.

License: Possession of valid California driver’s license. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California.

Senior Engineer

Experience: Four years of responsible journey experience similar to Associate Engineer (Registered) with the Nevada Irrigation District.

Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or a related field.

License: Possession of valid California driver’s license. Possession of a current certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California.
