Water Worker
Salary Range: $49,920 – $58,240 Annually – DOQ
South Montebello Irrigation District is currently accepting resumes for the positions of Water Worker I & II.
Both positions will require a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties involved in operating the District’s water production and distribution facilities.
The following duties represent the principal job duties; however, they are not all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Meter reading, exercising valves, excavating utilities, maintains reservoir, and wells sites. Install, repair & replace mains, water lines, services, meters, pumping equipment, fire hydrants, and valves. Experience in operating a Backhoe is highly desirable. Ability to identify tools, equipment, and material needs for each assigned project. Performs work in emergency situations and will be required to be on call. MUST BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO DISTRICT WITHIN 45 MINUTES.
Possession and proof of a driving record free of multiple serious traffic violations or accidents for (2) consecutive years is required.
Water Worker I
Candidate must possess a State of California Water Resources Distribution Operator Grade 1 & Treatment Operator Grade 1 Certifications.
Water Worker II
Candidate must possess a State of California Water Resources Distribution Operator Grade 2 & Treatment Operator Grade 2 Certifications.
