Hourly Rate: $38.09/$42.00

Overview:

The Elk Grove Water District (EGWD) is seeking a qualified Water Treatment Operator II or III to join our Treatment Division. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the EGWD’s water treatment facilities. The operator will be responsible for maintaining equipment, collecting and analyzing water samples, and performing routine plant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and operate water pumps, treatment equipment, and facilities
• Collect water samples for testing and perform lab analyses
• Monitor and control SCADA systems
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the treatment plant
• Participate in emergency operations when necessary

Qualifications:

• Experience in water treatment operations, including SCADA systems
• Ability to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs
• Knowledge of water quality standards and lab testing
• Must meet the required job specifications for a Grade 3 treatment plant
• Valid driver’s license with a 5-year DMV record

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly rate: $38.09/$42.00, depending on experience and qualifications

Required Certifications and Licenses:

Possession of a valid Class C Driver’s License; and

Water Treatment Operator II

·        Possession of State of California Water Treatment Operators certificate T2.

·        Possession of State of California Water Distribution Operators certificate D2.

Water Treatment Operator III

·        Possession of State of California Water Treatment Operators certificate T3.

·        Possession of State of California Water Distribution Operators certificate D2.

Required Education and Experience:

Water Treatment Operator II

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience with EGWD, classified as a Water Treatment Operator I or Water Distribution Operator I; or Two (2) years of increasingly responsible work experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution/treatment facility systems.

Water Treatment Operator III

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of experience with EGWD or Three (3) years of increasingly responsible work experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution/treatment facility systems.
