Water Quality Control Technician I/II
Under general supervision, monitors and maintains City water production wells, water treatment facilities, supplemental water connections and generally the duties conducted by the Public Works Maintenance Worker series for the City of Norco.
SALARY*:
Water Quality Technician I- $31.16 to $38.92 per hour
Water Quality Technician II -$35.26 to $44.04 per hour
*Applicants selected for employment may be hired at any level within the Utility Maintenance Worker series based on actual experience and qualifications.

WATER QUALITY CONTROL TECHNCIAN I
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: One year water treatment and distribution work experience.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Water Distribution System Operation and Maintenance Certification (State Office of Water Program). Must possess Grade I Water Distribution and Treatment, Grade I Water Treatment Operator.
License/Certification Required: State of California Grade I Water Distribution Operators Certification, a State of California Water Treatment I Certification and Valid California Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Knowledge: Knowledge of federal, state and City safe drinking water requirements and monitoring systems; installation, maintenance and repair of pump motors, chlorine regulators, electrical panels and water treatment facilities. Knowledge of S.C.A.D.A. monitoring and control system operation and the administration, testing, monitoring and enforcement of backflow prevention. Knowledge of procurement and handling of hazardous chemicals.
Ability: Some knowledge and skill in maintaining water wells, pumps and water treatment facilities; sampling and testing drinking water. Ability to communicate with professionalism, courtesy and tact. Ability to use proper English language including spelling, grammar and punctuation. Ability to use computer hardware, software and peripherals related to area assigned.
Employees are enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) government Employer Pull Notice Program. Class A drivers are enrolled in the Department of Transportation (DOT) random drug testing program.
