SALARY RANGE

Salary Effective July 1, 2024                                   

  • Utility Technician I: $4,816 – $5,854 Monthly                            
  • Utility Technician II: $5,320 – $6,466 Monthly
  • Utility Technician III: $5,876 – $6,803 Monthly

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled assignments in the District’s Wastewater and Water Divisions of Utility Services. If placed in this position, employees will perform construction and maintenance related duties on the District’s water and wastewater related pipelines, valves, lift stations, air-vacs, hydrants, manholes and facilities. Employees will provide support to other District operational needs and possibly with surrounding agencies as mutual aid.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

The right person for this role will possess the following credentials:

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain within twelve (12) months a valid Class A California Driver’s License and a safe driving record with the following endorsements: tanker, combination, and airbrake; CPR/First Aid training is required.

Utility Technician I

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification from District-provided CPR/First Aid training is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a California State Water Resources Control Board Grade I Water Distribution Operator certificate within one year of appointment and must maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must be able to obtain a California Water Environmental Association, Collections System Maintenance Grade I certificate within one year of appointment and must maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.

Utility Technician II

  • Must possess a California State Water Resources Control Board Grade II Water Distribution Operator certificate and must maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must possess a California Water Environmental Association, Collections System Maintenance Grade I certificate and must maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.

Utility Technician III

  • Must possess a California State Department of Health Services Grade III Water Distribution Operator certificate and must maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must possess a California Water Environmental Association, Collections System Maintenance Grade I certificate and must maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.
