This position will receive a 5% cost of living adjustment effective July 1, 2024.

Performs a variety of supervisory, administrative, skilled, technical, and maintenance work in the operation, repair, maintenance of City water systems, City facilities, parks, grounds, and open spaces; maintains and/or repairs conducts repairs and provide construction oversight of City streets, sidewalks, signs, sewers, storm drains, traffic systems and rights-of-way; assists in the preparation of plans and specifications for public works projects; performs inspection duties and assists in the coordination of public works projects; and performs related duties as required. 

This is a single-position class with oversight of the Utilities and Maintenance divisions. Duties include performing both technical and difficult maintenance tasks; may assist in the preparation of plans and specifications for public works projects; perform inspection duties; and assist in the coordination of miscellaneous public works projects. Successful performance of the work requires considerable use of independent judgment and initiative, particularly in the event of emergency situations.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general supervision by the Public Works/Community Services Director. This position is responsible for employees engaged in the operation and maintenance of the City’s water systems, facilities, and operations as well as storm drains and sewers; and maintenance and repair of City facilities, landscaping, medians, parks, streets, signage, and sidewalks.
