Under direction of the Director of Engineering and Operations, the Senior Engineer oversees the Engineering Department by planning, managing, and coordinating staff and civil engineering work. This position carries a high level of responsibility and requires a person who can work independently. The Senior Engineer will understand management and leadership principles and apply them at all times. They will be deliberate about teamwork, professionalism, flexibility, active listening, and be able to express ideas and exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions.

They will hold registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of California and have at least seven (7) years of progressive responsibility engineering, construction, or technical administrative experience within the water and/or wastewater industry. Their savvy, resourcefulness, inclusivity, and influence will allow them to forge strong connections with the community, regional stakeholders, professional bodies, and internal staff. By leveraging these attributes, they actively contribute to realizing the District’s Values Statement and advancing its Strategic Plan, driving tangible results, and fostering sustainable growth.


·        Salary range is $101,882 – $141,655. This position is classified as exempt.

·        12 Paid Holidays, 3 floating holidays and 7 Administrative Days

·        9/80 Workweek
