Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician
This position will receive a 3% percent cost of living increase effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range effective January 1, 2025, will be:
Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician $48.09 – $66.19 hourly.
Under general supervision of the Electrical/Instrumentation Supervisor, a Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician coordinates and leads electrical/instrumentation technicians. A Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician also performs the more complex work related to the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a variety of process equipment, electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment in support of the District’s water treatment, distribution, collection, reclamation, and composting operations.
The recruitment process will consist of an application screening, 1st round (structured) interview, and 2nd round (selection) interview. The tentative date ranges for the interviews are listed below:
1st Round Interview Date Range: January 13 – 16, 2025
2nd Round Interview Date Range: January 20 – 23, 2025

Training and Experience Guidelines
Any combination of training and experience, which demonstrates attainment of the required knowledge and ability to perform the required work (with reasonable accommodation, if needed), typically:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. College-level classes in electrical/instrumentation theory and practice highly desirable
EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years of experience as an Instrument Technician and or an Electrician performing high and low voltage electrical work and maintaining computer controlled electronics and instrumentation in a water/wastewater treatment plant or an industrial setting.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
A valid California class C driver’s license must be maintained at all times. A CWEA Grade III Electrical/Instrumentation Certification is required.
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
One or more of the following certificates are desirable:
CWEA Grade IV Electrical/Instrumentation Certification
State of California Grade III Water Distribution Certification
State of California Grade III Water Treatment Certification
State of California Grade III Wastewater Treatment Certification
California State Electrical Certification.
