CCWD is seeking two skilled, motivated, and team-oriented Project Senior Engineers who will be working on the Canal Replacement Program in the Engineering Department. The Canal Replacement Program will replace 26 miles of CCWD’s primary water conveyance facility with a large diameter pipeline. This project is currently in preliminary design for the main 22-mile portion of the Canal and will be progressing the conceptual and design phase for the beginning 4-mile section. The Project Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing implementation of portions of CCWD’s Canal Replacement Program; which may include progressing conceptual and preliminary design of pipelines, reservoir, and pump stations, stormwater solutions for the 26-mile right-of-way, and modifications to dam facilities.

The Project Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading implementation of projects and initiatives from CCWD’s capital improvement program, which may include treated water distribution pipeline replacements; improvements to treated water facilities, untreated water facilities, and water treatment plants; and regulatory compliance. The Project Senior Engineer may serve as supervisor to a project engineer as the Canal Replacement Program progresses toward final design and implementation depending on program resource needs.

The “Project Employee Position” is full-time and temporary with benefits, for work on the Canal Replacement Program. The position is anticipated to last for a term of 2 to 5 years and possibly longer. Project employees are hired for specific projects of limited duration. Individuals selected for project positions are entitled to all terms and conditions of employment as specified in the IFPTE, Local 21 MOU Section 22.

  • Managing external consultants and interfacing with external stakeholders
  • Preparing and delivering reports to executive management
  • Tracking budget and invoicing
  • Support environmental analysis (CEQA and NEPA) and permit applications
