Maintenance Worker Trainee/I/II or Maintenance Worker I/II Specialty
The West Valley Sanitation District announces an employment opportunity (one position) for a Maintenance Worker Trainee/I/II or Maintenance Worker I/II Specialty.
Maintenance Worker Trainee is an entry level class while Maintenance Worker I is a skilled level class, and Maintenance Worker II is a journey level class in the Maintenance Worker Series.
The Specialty designation is for positions with specific responsibilities, knowledge, certification, and skills/abilities required for the management of specialized programs including pump station maintenance, closed circuit television, and mechanical maintenance.
Under general supervision or direction, the Maintenance Worker performs a variety of wastewater collection system maintenance duties assigned, including but not limited to:
- Clean, televise, inspect, repair, clear, locate, and construct District facilities.
- Operate a variety of vehicles and equipment such as service trucks, dump trucks with trailers, forklifts, skid loaders, Vactor trucks, rodder trucks, emergency generators and pumps, CCTV van, and others.
- Traffic control and set and dismantle traffic control devices;
- Routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment, small equipment, hand tools, yard, and facilities.
- Serve on the on-call rotation for service calls during non-work hours, weekends, and holidays.
