Laboratory Technician

Our Environmental Compliance team is seeking someone to join their team as a part-time, temporary Laboratory Technician.

The expected duration of this assignment is approximately four months and may not exceed 1000 hours in a fiscal year. Hours and days can be adjusted to meet an individual’s schedule, but Monday and Thursday mornings are desirable.

Examples of Duties:

• Collect wastewater samples from various sampling points within the treatment plant and at designated locations in public and private property, in accordance with direction.
• Collect surf zone samples on a weekly basis.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory and sampling equipment.
• Perform various laboratory analyses in accordance with the appropriate certified methods.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance tests and maintains quality control procedures in the laboratory.
• Enter sample results and other data into the laboratory information management system and other databases.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma required. Recently completed or enrolled in and working towards a Bachelor’s degree program or Associate’s degree program in natural or environmental science, engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. 
• Recent Environmental laboratory or closely related experience, including college coursework.
