JOB DESCRIPTION

Under direction of the IT GIS Supervisor, this role is responsible for the analysis, development, maintenance, programming, integration, and enhancement of the District’s Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS), and performs related work as assigned.

  • Manage and maintain the District Enterprise GIS.
  • Generate informative reports and dashboards.
  • Create maps and visualizations for data representation.
  • Develop and employ proper QA/QC techniques for GIS data.
  • Establish and document data editing workflows and conversion processes.
  • Ensure data quality process and efficiency by working with internal departments and external parties.
  • Utilize ArcGIS Desktop for data display, querying, editing, and mapping.
  • Integrate data between various platforms such as ERP, CMMS, Document Management, CCTV, and Hydraulic.
  • Provide training and assistance to end users in GIS tools and applications.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

The right person for this role will possess the following credentials:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, GIS, or a closely related field.
  • Four years of experience working with ArcGIS software.
  • One year experience in programming languages used in GIS and spatial analysis, such as Python, Arcade, JavaScript, or SQL.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Possession of a valid California driver’s license, Class C or higher.
  • GISP certification is highly desirable.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain, certification from District-provided CPR/First Aid training is required.
