Drainage Maintenance Worker I
The City of Beverly Hills is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Drainage Maintenance Worker I. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the cleaning, construction, replacement, repairing and maintenance of the City’s sewage collection system and related facilities. The incumbent will also perform a variety of emergency tasks in inclement weather (cleaning storm drain lines, sandbag distribution and application to hillside areas, and other related tasks).
Please Note: The work schedule for this position includes weekends.
Annual Salary: $57,382.56 – $71,087.52
Major Duties
- Assists in installations, removals, cleanings, and repairs of sewer lines and related facilities.
- Operates under supervision sewer line cleaning and inspection equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance on sewer lines.
- Responds to public complaints and request for service including completing service requests on the City’s database system.
- Performs a variety of emergency tasks in inclement weather such as sandbagging hills to prevent erosion.
- Repairs, replaces and cleans storm drains and catch basins.
- Installs barricades and routes traffic.
- Assists private contractors.
- Builds, repairs, raises and lowers manholes.
- May assist with data input.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
- Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Entry-level experience in wastewater conveyance systems (sewers and storm-drains) or related experience.
Licenses & Certificates:
- Possession of a valid California unrestricted Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
- Including the following endorsements within 6 months of hire:
- Tank endorsement (N)
- No air brake restriction
