Exercise supervision:

Supervise Quality Assurance Assistance, Technicians, I, II, III and Office Support staff.

Primary function:

Perform complex tasks to implement and comply with all water quality and environmental regulations and programs. Oversee and supervise water

Treatment plants operations and maintenance activities prepare reports summarizing Quality Assurance, write reports and correspond with regulatory agencies and may act as Company representative with these agencies. Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, local drinking water and environmental  regulations.

Primary Job responsibilities:

Review data on water quality from system source samples. Develops and directs water quality program needed to meet requirements of reporting by California Department of public health and the US EPA. Makes recommendations for blending sources of supply that will minimize the use of water rights while meeting the requirements of MCL and NL from CDPH.Monitors reports potential changes in the requirements of the safe drinking water act (SDWA) Maintains and oversees the cross connection program. Develops and maintains water quality and other water related quality  assurance databases to ensure proper system operation and compliance with regulatory requirements oversees distribution system sampling and flushing program, Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and CCR and Annual reports. Determine proper process parameters and implements and controls filtration, blending, chemical additions and other treatment processes, adjust and control disinfection chemical application at sources and treatment plants ensures proper disinfection residual levels in the distribution system. Investigate and responds in a timely basis to water quality complaints from internal or external sources. Continually practices safety including defensive driving techniques in the safe operation of company vehicle and equipment, Follows OSHA safety guidelines.

Under minimal supervision, perform various duties to ensure that the water supplied to the customers is aesthetically pleasing and meets all water

Job Duties:

Maintains and repairs water treatment equipment and facilities, including chemical feed systems analyzers. Determines correct chemical dosage and adjust chemical application equipment, Calculates and adjust source water blending parameters according to treatment facility permit requirements.

Schedule and performs the proper and timely collection of bacteriological, microbiological, general physical, chemical , radiological and other water quality samples as required at the sources, treatment plants and distribution systems specified locations.

Takes proper water quality samples and performs analysis for chemical and other constituents. Flushing of system through fire hydrants and blow off valves.

Rehabilitates, disinfects and tests domestic water wells.

Responsible for answering customer’s inquiries pertaining to water quality.

Prepare and write reports, maintain databases on samples taken, reservoir chlorination, flushing and plan logs and other job related forms in a timely manner.

Guide and instruct others in the performance of water quality Assurance duties

Such as water quality sampling, safety inspections, chlorine residual testing handling customer’s complaints and other duties as required, perform or instruct others in the proper procedure and application of required chemicals at treatment plants. Or in the event of the distribution line break or similar situation requiring disinfection or other procedures before they go back into operations. Primary Function:

Under minimal supervision, perform various duties to ensure that the water supplied to the Customers is aesthetically pleasant and meets all water quality standards set by the PUC, Federal State and other local regulatory agencies.

Job responsibilities:

Schedules and perform collection of water quality samples from wells, treatment plants, storage facilities, designated sampling stations, and homes for chemical, radiological, bacteriological and any other water quality constituents as required by drinking water regulations, standards and procedures. Performs a variety of water quality field test, according to monitoring schedules and to investigate water quality problems in the distribution system and at treatment plants. Apply specified amounts of water treatment and disinfection chemicals at treatment plants, storage facilities and throughout the distribution system.

Interprets sample results and determine if follow up investigation or corrective action is required. Utilizes water systems maps and blue prints to schedule and perform flushing of the system through fire hydrant and blow off valves responsible for answering customer’s inquiries or complaints pertaining to water quality. Performs duties utilizing equipment such as flushing and dechlorination devices, inter system, small hand tools safety hardness and two way communication equipment.

Prepare and write reports produce graphs and maintain files databases on monitoring results, reservoirs chlorination flushing customer’s inquiries, plant operations and maintenance and other job related forms in a legible and timely manner, Able to write comprehensive reports as directed or required

Complete safety reports and forms schedules daily activities and completes time cards as required.

Updates water quality monitoring schedule and sampling plans. Maintains laboratory reports files CDPH and other regulated agencies.
