PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY:

I have a variety of experience involving environmental design and research. I have worked on numerous projects requiring skills such as preparing environmental impact reports, updating and researching existing water quality reports, and the design of water reclamation facilities and reclaimed water pipelines.

DUDEK ENVIRONMENTAL                                                                              2010-Present

Presently working as an engineering technician to provide assistance in water treatment plant operations, construction management, and technical research for water pipeline designs. Currently working with Hometown America on upgrading the Los Ranchos wastewater treatment plant. Such tasks include operations and construction monitoring, weekly reporting to the regional water board, and data recording.

For Irvine Ranch Water District, working on an 8-inch potable water pipeline design within the city of Costa Mesa. Duties for this project include on-site analysis of existing water distribution system, utility research, and customer coordination.

MWH ENGINEERS                                                                                                     2008-2010

Worked in the design group as an engineering technician and for planning and initial design of recycled water facilities including pipelines and on-site retrofits. Typical tasks included sampling of wastewater treatment plants, construction monitoring, and field research of existing water pipeline systems. Previous assignments were part of the environmental studies group as an environmental scientist with assignments including work on EIRs and preparation of water quality reports. Some of the project assignments are listed below.

For the USGVMWD''s Rosemead recycled water pipeline extension I assisted the project manager in writing the Preliminary Design Report. The team used H20Map Water software to size the recycled water pipeline and researched all major utilities that run in the recycled water pipeline alignment to point out possible conflicts for the final design portion of the project.  ArcMap Version 9.2 software was used to create figures of the two proposed pipeline alignments, location of customers, and potential utility conflicts. There will be 620 acre-ft of water conveyed in this pipeline on a yearly basis.

For the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD), served as an environmental scientist on their 2008 EIR for the water and recycled water projects. Also for EVMWD, worked on their quarterly and annual water reports including Canyon Lake and Lake Elsinore. Some tasks included gathering water quality data, organizing data to illustrate trends, and QA/QC of reports.

Performed planning and initial engineering design for the multi-million dollar program of Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District (USGVMWD). This program will potentially use 40,000 to 50,000 AFY of reclaimed water from the County Sanitation District’s San Jose Creek Plant for irrigation, industrial use, spreading (recharge) and river discharge in a portion of the District. The phased implementation plan is currently on schedule. I served of the team providing a quality assurance and quality control review for 6.5 miles of 36-inch recycled water pipeline for the USGVMWD Recycled Water Demonstration Project.

FINANCIAL EXPERIENCE                                                                                   2002-2007

Worked for over five years in the financial sector for large loan and lending entities, Countrywide Home Loans, CIT Group and People’s Choice Home Loan, Inc.  This was excellent experience in understanding all aspects of credit analyses, funding evaluation and quality control. Through my daily tasks, I developed keen proofing and analyzing of details skills. During this period, I held the positions of funder, underwriter and quality control lead. I also gained experience in supervising groups and training. As I left this field to complete my degree in environmental science and took a position at MWH, this experience has been of benefit in analyses of project funding and preparation of financial charts and graphs.

OTHER EXPERIENCE WITH ENGINEERING FIRMS                                          Part Time

Prior to getting my degree, I was able to work part time for two consulting engineering firms, HYA and Dames and Moore.  General office skills and data entry were primary assignments. Data entry and maintenance for the library at HYA included over 10,000 documents. Also at HYA, I assisted with data collection and logging for water and wastewater sampling and projects. At Dames and Moore, I set up computer systems and work stations and trained new employees on office and computer procedures. This experience has been valuable in working in groups and different offices.
