Everybody knows it's a tight job market right now. But the fact is, it's always a tight job market for the people you'd most like to have on your team.

So in describing the position you want to fill, emphasize the challenges and accomplishments that will interest the person you really want. Let that person know that they will be a productive member of a quality team at a quality agency or company.

Why is your agency or company a good place to work? Think about that. Then communicate it.

Be as specific as possible regarding normal duties, required education and experience, working conditions, location, and (yes) compensation. Don't waste applicants' time and yours with interviews and correspondence that should have been weeded out to start with.

Have a web page? Most job applicants start researching there. If your web page is presentable, be sure to include its URL in your ad. We'll make it a live link for you.
