MOULTON NIGUEL WATER DISTRICT: This district was formed in 1960 to serve local ranchers in southern Orange County who were drawn together by a common need – Water. Today, the District serves over 167,000 residents in the communities of Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, and Dana Point. The District consists of 100 full-time employees, dedicated to providing a high level of customer value and satisfaction to its customers.

THE POSITON – ASSOCIATE ENGINEER: Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Associate Engineer would perform a variety of duties including: Supervise office engineering staff, including Recycled Water Coordinator and Mapping and Records Department. Manage the implementation and maintenance of the District’s Geographic Information System (GIS). Complete a variety of engineering tasks to support other District departments, governmental agencies, developers, contractors, and engineering consultants in conjunction with coordinating engineering services and functions. Assist with the planning, design and implementation of District capital improvement projects and Developer dedicated facilities. Prepare requests for proposals for design of various capital improvement projects and provide design management and review.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related science and five (5) years of professional engineering experience. Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California highly desired. Must be knowledgeable in Information Technology, the operation of personal computers including spreadsheets, databases, word processing and graphical programs. Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license and safe driving record.

FULL-TIME BENEFITS: • 4/10 work schedule (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) • PERS Retirement 2% @ 55 formula with 3% cola (only Employer share paid by District). • District paid medical, dental, vision insurance for employee, nominal fee for employee and dependents in the Point of Service (POS) Plan. There is no cost for employees or dependents that select the HMO Plan. • Life insurance – District pays full premium for a group life policy equal to two times annual salary. • Short-term and long-term disability insurance – District pays full premium • 80 hours paid vacation per year. Vacation increases after 5 years of employment. • Paid sick leave = 96 hours per year • 9 designated Holidays plus 2 Floating Holidays per year. • Deferred Compensation Options. The District matches up to two percent into a 401(a) Plan • Tuition Assistance & Computer Loan Programs • Safety Incentive program
