ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Leads operator by performing intermediate to advanced activities involving the installation, modification and repair of water distribution equipment and systems. • Isolates equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action. • Familiarity with large meters and their settings. • Assists with Capital Budget Meter Programs • Trains and guides other Water Distribution Operators. • Performs Customer Information Systems operations. • Prepares daily logs and reports on work performed. • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent. • Three years as a Water Distribution Operator II or six years as a Water Distribution Operator in a water related industry. • DHS Grade 2 Water Distribution certification required • Must obtain DHS Grade 3 Water Distribution certification within one year of start date. • DHS Grade 1 Water Treatment certification preferred. • Valid California Driver’s license or applicable commercial truck driver’s license.
