Job Description:
Tacoma Water is developing a new formal Asset Management program to ensure best-in-class utility management. Asset Management is an integrated set of processes to minimize the lifecycle costs of owning, operating and maintaining assets, at an acceptable level of risk, while continuously delivering established levels of service.
As part of the new Asset Management workgroup, this position will prepare strategic asset management plans which incorporate management strategy, and documents the state of the infrastructure, engineering standards, inventory and condition of assets, maintenance and operational strategies, capital plans, associated risk models, financial requirements, tactical plans, levels of service (targets and actual), and associated asset and cost information. The plans will combine multi-disciplinary management techniques (i.e. technical and financial) to analyze the assets we own, likelihood and consequence of failure in order to inform each of Tacoma Water's sections for CIP development and operations and maintenance of the system. This position will develop plans containing the long-term goals and strategies of the organization having strong external focus, identifying major targets, actions and resource allocations relating to long-term sustainability, value, and growth of the organization.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Professional Engineering License at time of appointment with maintenance thereafter. Valid Washington State Driver's License at the time of appointment with maintenance thereafter.
