Job Description:
The Water Education Foundation has an immediate fulltime opening for an experienced, talented, energetic and motivated Events Director. The Events Director is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of the Foundation’s regional water issues tours. The Events Director also will assist with arranging for speakers and moderators for Foundation conferences and workshops.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Annual, multi-day tours. Duties include, but are not limited, to: • Researching current water issues • Determining sites to visit so participants can view water infrastructure projects, environmental restoration projects, farms, etc. • Contacting agencies and other organizations to identify speakers for specific tour stops along the way • Contacting agencies and other organizations to identify experts to serve as resource speakers for the entire tour • Contacting agencies and other organizations about providing financial assistance for tours • Driving the tour route(s) to develop a highly detailed and accurate itinerary to allow for visits to sites and speaker presentations • Serving as the tour leader on all tours • Relaying background information on pertinent issues to tour participants while on the tours • Coordinating tour stops and routes with bus driver and speakers while on the tours • Completing tour follow-up work such as speaker thank you letters

Conferences and workshops. Duties include, but are not limited, to: • Researching current water issues • Contacting agencies and other organizations to arrange for speakers and moderators • Serving as panel moderator where appropriate • Coordinating with Foundation staff on conference logistics

SKILLS: • Excellent organizational, research and analytical skills • Ability to plan and manage a variety of projects simultaneously • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines • Ability to speak well in front of groups • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with Foundation staff and event participants • Ability and willingness to travel

QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree • Minimum of five years commensurate experience in the area of event production • Prior experience with natural resource issues preferred • Experience managing relationships with multiple agencies and developing and building strategic partnerships and networking • Experience delivering excellent customer service • Ability to successfully resolve problems and/or conflicts as they arise • Knowledge of Windows-based MS suite software – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus

Salary:
$60,000 annually plus excellent benefits – medical, dental, vision, life insurance; vacation, sick, paid holidays; 403(b) plan with employer match; paid parking or mass transit pass
